Corporate Whores of DC Comics

When one contemplates the character of the true hero, one considers traits such as righteousness, uncompromising will and the belief in something higher than themselves. Considering modern media, that is far from the truth. Batman, for instance, is an owner of a billion dollar corporation, who acts upon self-interest and to protect Wayne Industries. All of his adversaries were essentially betrayed by him and created by Batman himself. He only has one rule, “not to kill”, which in essence is the reason behind the creation of most of his archenemies. The Joker, for example, was at first a petty thief that had spied on Wayne Industries low security facilities in order to steal from them. When the Batman eventually discovered his actions and attempted to stop him, he fell into acid, deforming him beyond the point of sanity. Afterwards, he upped his game, stealing from every criminal in Gotham City, whilst taking over the underground crime syndicates. Another main adversary, known as the Riddler, was one of Bruce Wayne’s former employees. As Wayne would not provide the funding for one of his projects and  betrayed him, he became a villain.

It should be noted that as a functioning, corporate psychopath, he could be termed as the most successful and popular corporate whore in history. In fact, it would not be too far fetched to state that all DC heroes have rather misplaces virtues.

Superman, for instance, encouraged a farmer to destroy the farming industry. Furthermore, he fiercely protected the usage of fossil fuels and encouraged drinking alcohol. Those that recall the period of legalization of hemp and marijuana in recorded history, amongst other medicinal plants that could be grown within the home, will understand the repercussions of Supermans actions. Superman within the movie Man of Steel, prevented the theft from a Federal Bank. Money, which would not have been noticed, as it would have been replaced hours later. One could nuke every single federal bank in the United States, and it would not dent the American Banking Economy, they would simply convert the banks that are still standing into federal ones. Thus, superman was merely protecting the individuals in charge, not the people in general. On a seperat note, Lex Luther is the only individual that is constantly inventing new power sources, whilst fighting the corporations, merely struggling for the same control that the federal authorities currently possess. Comic or not…the subliminal messages of DC are becoming increasing clear. Superman and Batman were both in fierce favour of the corporations. There are countless enemies that were created by DC out of the actions of a hero, which is the exact opposite of the original intent. A hero is often depict as an individual that acts on behalf of the greater good of the planet, not merely money hoarders and corporations in control alongside the government. As you will find, the heroes that stand against corruption always meet their end in a confrontation with the government, which would be entirely unrealistic. The power within the modern world lies within the bodies that support the government. The power lies within religions, banks and corporations. Governmental and political authorities are merely the public face of a much more in-depth system of cogwheels. Most justify their actions, seeming not as bad as their anti-hero counterparts. Simply because one does not murder does not make one a righteous hero. In fact, Rorschach, the classic sociopath, is perhaps the only incorruptible individual in the entire DC genre. Truth be told, Batman is one of the least mentally stable heroes of all time, with extreme psychopathic and anti-social tendencies. He has no care and will use others for his own interests as well as gains. He operates within a morally grey area, justifying his actions with his unwillingness to kill. Truth be told, if a bank is robbed, the taxpayer is responsible for reimbursing the federal bank. Countless bank robbers throughout history have been targeted for becoming Federal Reserve banks, preventing them from becoming such, and banks that function as a Federal Reserve Bank. Superheroes protect banks, merely to protect the people from the taxman and therefore protecting them from the corporate individuals in charge of them. Batman, for instance, was often berated by the Joker for putting doing much worse than he would. Bruce Wayne would beat individuals to a pulp that were already financially bankrupt, hospitalizing them for months or crippling them, and the only place they can turn to is a Wayne Institute. On one occasion, the Joker even hints at Batman being a closet pedophile. On another occasion, he laughs at him, accusing Batman of doing worse than he ever could by killing an adversary.

It should also be noted that Wayne invested funding into creating Batmans throughout space-time. In the episode, which involved the Sphinx, it was revealed that Batman used the same spells for which he imprisoned the Sphinx.JLofA-1

Conclusively, we have more affiliation with the hero that beats the rapists in the middle of the night or the pedophiles that is attempting to sneak into a little girls window. Furthermore, the Justice League of America is merely another bunch of Heroes that came together due to the mistakes of their past. Wonderwoman, for instance, was thrown out of Olympia, as she could not obey the rules. Earth at that time was a prison for Gods. She wanted to interfere with human affairs, killing innocent, thus reinforcing the corporate image within the reality of the children reading the comics. She became involved in a corporate war on Earth, and was exiled as a consequence. The Green Arrow, for instance, is also a corporate billionaire that longed for revenge for the murder of his parents by a corporation that also opposed Bruce Wayne, allowing for the Batman to team up with him. In essence, he was an orphan that was involved in a corporate war. There are other less known characters, however, their stories are increasingly similar and basic. The Justice League of America was created with the purpose of protecting the earth from external influence, hence preventing alien interference on Earth. The Green Lantern, for instance, a rich, corporate egotist received godlike power in a ringed, charged to defend his quadrant of space. More interested in protecting in corporate interests on Earth than the rest of the galaxy. The current riots prompted by America in Bosnia, for example, are simply another means of gaining entrance to the pyramids and remove items that they do not wish to be found, as they have done for hundreds of years. And before then, it was the Church. A true hero would not perpetuate the lies told to the people. They would liberate them.  In essence, D/C Comics appears to be filled with corporate propaganda and hypocrisy. It is the reason why true heroes do no exist, as they would close banks, crush corporations, painfully remove every pedophile from power and hit the delete button on world debt.
